Description
Real-steel 1941 Willys coupe gasser built by "Dirty" Ernie Hamon, the car featured in Hot Rod Deluxe magazine. This is not a fiberglass replica. It was built to 1963-and-earlier parts spec and set up to run 9s at 140+ MPH.
It's powered by a blown 392 Chrysler FirePower Hemi with an 8-71 Mooneyham-style blower, Hilborn methanol injection, magneto ignition and fenderwell headers, backed by a B&M 4-speed Hydramatic and a '57 Pontiac rear end with 4.56 gears and a spool. Straight axle on leaf springs, ladder bars, NHRA-spec roll cage and mechanical gauges. Flat orange paint with hand-painted "Dirty Ernie" door lettering.
Extras go with the car: a spare front clip with nice steel fenders, plus spare Center Line wheels with slicks.
Stored indoors on museum display. Plan on a standard check-over and fluid service before track use. Clear title. Located in the Kansas City, MO area.
